I have heard that those are officially retired in all stores worldwide starting from today. 
I my opinion it was better idea for reuse/recycling especially with 75 cents discount for using your own cup.

In Cologne it is possible to give the cups back to refund your 75 cent. I´m not sure about the expiry date, i guess they said something round about middle of the year.
