7.20 per kilo of approved bricks? Plus you got to ship it and it is min 5.49 per 2 kilo in germany. (Honestly who has more then one kilo of unwanted bricks?. Unwanted also has very little sense;) ) Much more attractive in USA where you can drop bricks in the shop.

I do fully agree with every word your said here.
I see no sense to make not pure paper bags (as it supposed to be probably) but more like tetra-pak style packaging - layered paper-plastic.
Obvious example of 3rd Murphy law - Things tend to develop from bad to worse.
Also I am absolutely frustrated with new carton boxes TLG start to use for shipping sets from online store - while the quality is good the new design makes it absolutely impossible to be reused. I am still using some old boxes but the new ones goes directly into blue bin after being opened.

do not forget to sterilize washing machine after - no joke.
Also from my experience the best result for big plates can be achieved by hands with the help of soft toothbrush.

I never used to use washing machine for lego so can not advise on the matter.
But I have been doing lego washing by hands - so I strongly recommend after you washed your bricks before you put them to dry give a good rinse with distilled water. I mean really good.
White stains because of hard water after drying is a big pain once they are there.
Distilled water helps to avoid it.
